Cristal Boycott

Cristal wants to recapture its elegant past, and not be seen as the drink of rap and that's racist according to some celebrities such as Jay-Z & P-Diddy. Not sure how they come to that conclusion, but why is it that they are not interested in a boycott of guns, drugs, misogyny, etc.

What's not to love about having a product associated rap/hip-hop and all its trappings?

Race Card & Obscurity

I've often wondered how people are supposed to sensitive about using potentially charged language, but simultaneously suffer the same accusations for knowing them.

Given US Sen. George Allen's stupid comments, one has to wonder, where did he learn such an obscure reference, especially since he's probably never been outside Virginia and DC because he has trouble recognizing anyone that isn't white.

I've never heard 'macaca', and am suprised he has. The interesting aspect is just where is this slur used? And how did know when to use it so 'perfectly'?

Admittedly he's in hot water, hopefully he's smart enough to realize he should not run for president, we've suffered enough embarrassment already from our sitting president.

Just when you think the old stereotypes of republicans are fading......

But then again, maybe he's just a big fan of Brasilian soccer mascots:

59 YO Shuts Aircraft Down

If a 59 year old woman named Catherine Mayo urinating on the carpet can cause an airplane to change course with an escort of 2 F16s, I wonder what a few determined militants could do.

Oh nevermind, I already know the answer to that.

If a 12 year old boy can get on a plane without a passport, well you get the idea.

I'm just relieved both originated in Britain, I'd be mighty dissapointed if our Department of Homeland Security was behind letting these two get past.

But then again, doesn't DHS recruit in the same fashion as our US Post Office?

Reuters - Still Limited Journalistic Integrity

Given the flap over photoshopped pictures taken by its Lebanon-based photographer, Reuters has reiterated its photo policy and introduced new standards.

This begs the question, when will the same rule apply to the language used by journalists?

It's not uncommom for a reporter to use suggestive language, like using 'Advocate' when the reporter likes the political leaning of the group, but the term 'Lobbyist' when he disdains it. Such an example would be 'NRA lobbyists confronting gun-control advocates.'

Or a more recent example is omitting the term 'illegal' when descibing The Minutemen as anti-immigration.

If theres a policy against doctoring photos - why not language?

The Lieberman Lament

Independent Lieberman has joined the ranks of "Those Coybows"

The DNC knows Lieberman can win, because conservatives will vote for Lieberman rather than see Lamont win.

This just kills the DNC, if Lieberman remains, how will they topple King George?

For this they will crucify Lieberman.

I need someone to explain how a 52% to 48% margin of 17% of the population constitutes a mandate, must be the same analysts GW used to claim the last election gave him 'capital to spend'.

I guess in today's 30 second attention span, the media has defined a mandate in terms of Win-Lose. (Don't tell Hillary).

Lieberman VS Lamont

A vote for Lamont is a vote to end the war.

A vote for Lieberman is a vote to perpetuate republican shenanigans.

I think I'd vote for Lieberman just because he doesn't tow the party line, which is what's wrong with our current congress/senate.

Lamont claims he'd stand up to Bush and essentially end the war, I'd like to see his plan! I'll just refer to him as Supemont.

¡Viva Cuba!

So Cuba just moved to the top of my retirement location list!

Why?

It posseses all of my key factors:
Tropical beach living
Classic architecture
People and lifestyle trapped in a simpler era!
Affordable

I just hope our current administration doesn't destroy the last pro-American culture of people left! Yes, I said that, Cuba is pro-American, ever been to Miami? They didn't become pro-American on arrival!

Realistically it's time to recognize and invest in Cuba, and Puerto Rico as well!

I wonder if I'd have to change my opinion of Ché?

Lohan VS Castro

I really wanted to comment on Castro, but the Lohan story is so much more important!

Dina Lohan is busy defending her 'little girl' from bad businessmen, I've got news for you sweetheart, Lindsay IS nearly a $10 million business, not a little girl.

This just in: Lohan & Gibson just spotted together, Gibson was decrying Jews running the world and Lohan was decrying the Jews running Hollywood.
