Gibson's Passion for the Booze

It's pretty obvious Mel has a problem, it's even more obvious that what he said are his true feelings and thoughts. But are those thoughts subject to disclosure? Is it really the job of the police to record & report commentary? Almost smacks of Thought Police?

Some have indicated that an ordinary person would not have been given editing benefits from the police, but if it was just an ordinary person - no one would care what was said.

When do Liberals find God?

It is said that conservatives hide behind God and liberals hide from God.

So when does a liberal find God? When they realize they are not the gods they thought they were - when things are out of their control.

For Susan Estrich it was as her brother lay dying. However she did seem to think if she studied medicine she could have saved him. She admitted she could not help him, but still retained her arrogance.

For Gray Davis, it was when it was when the recall was succeeding.

Funny how our own mortality can bring us to our knees.

Boxer Bashing

How interesting that Barbara Boxer demands to know when Iraq's Prime Minister al-Maliki will be able to take over security for Iraq. It takes a lot of gall to ask such a question considering WE virtually destroyed every functioning aspect of that country.

Some senators went further to denounce Prime Minister al-Maliki for his failure to denounce Hezbollah and essentially support Israel. I find this pretty short-sighted criticism from ivory-tower parasites whose only worry is how their comments may affect their re-election, while Prime Minister al-Maliki's comments can easily get him killed - on a daily basis!

Let's be honest, Israel is doing a better job killing Lebanese citizens than eradicating Hezbollah, for that they should be chastised.

The Non Sequitir Press

Media outlets reported that Plame was outed as a CIA operative because her husband Wilson wrote a highly critical editorial about the Bush administration.

Taken in context, Plame was outed because she sent her husband on a 'fact finding' mission, this meant she no longer separated her professional and personal life. She'd essentially become a liability since her judgement had become impaired, especially when one considers her husband's obligations as journalist are quite different than hers as a CIA operative.

Cheney objected to her loose cannon status, and remedied the situation. Quite effectively I might add, HR would have taken much longer.

I propose Emma Thompson play Valerie Plame in the Fox TV movie!

The Myopic Press

The press, hand-in-hand with our current administration, fails to see the big picture; consequently miss the real story about Rush's Viagra incident. In simple minded fashion they only saw a connection to his previous problem about drug abuse and failed to recognize what should have really been exposed:

Why was Rush travelling with Viagra and without his wife?

That's the real question to pose to a man with "Talent on loan from God".

Preliterate: When words have failed.

I am who I am, not always who I say or claim to be.

I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused - Elvis Costello.
